Joseph…104 years old…222 churches…still full of life.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth. Where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Matthew 6:19-21
Where our treasure is, there our hearts also are.
Our priorities, where we spend our time, energy and money all reveal our hearts.
Joseph, a man I had the privilege of recently meeting, has built his life around eternal treasures…his inheritance is in heaven.
What an encouragement to see how the Lord has blessed this man, even in his later years.
I’ve been challenged by Joseph and ask myself, where is my heart…am I building for myself earthly treasures or treasures in heaven?
Mozambique – an intense time of ministering to the people on the island of Inhasuns!
Inhasuns is an island full of people searching for purpose. The men and women work in the rice fields during the day, but other than that they have no meaning to their lives. In their search for more, they turn to Islam and witchcraft. This brings an initial ‘excitement’ and sense of belonging, but soon leads them down a road of destruction.
Just like everywhere, these people are searching for purpose and want to be used by God. They need value placed on them and an opportunity to serve and use their giftings for Gods glory.
During my time on the island I was constantly confronted with the questions,
How can I help to give them the opportunity to serve God with what they have?
How can I bring these people into Gods presence?
I learnt a lot in this about hearing Gods voice. Sometimes the role he gave me was just to pray in the background against strongholds over the area…sometimes it was to pray for the sick to receive healing…sometimes to teach about Gods story and plan for man… or sometimes to lead a Bible study.
It was a joy for me to submit to God and just allow myself to ‘be a branch’ – following the Holy Spirits guidance in every situation. (John 15)
As a team we witnessed many people coming to faith in Christ.
God showed his healing power, setting many people free from different sickness and disease.
We also had the privilege of taking a number of people through baptism and then praying with them for the filling of the Holy Spirit.
God used us to bring light into the darkness, and we tangibly saw the effect that light has on darkness – when light enters the darkness must flee.

Thank you for your continued prayer support!
We are in the last days of the trek now…some last ministry in South Africa and personal debriefing before we finish on June 30th.
– that each of us will remain focussed until the end
– for Gods guidance for me as I make decisions on where I will be for the remaining time (year and a half) I have here with OM in Africa
